The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino is pushing back its opening date to later in 2024 after previously announcing it would open a permanent location in July 2024.
A news release from the casino stated that the permanent casino completion date will be later in the year. However, an exact date has yet to be announced. Hard Rock Bristol told the media that more than 600 workers are on site each day to get everything done for future guests.
Initially, the plan was to open the casino in stages, but the partnership team has backtracked on that idea. Now, the partners want to host a grand opening where all the amenities are available to guests from day one.
The leadership team stated that recent legislation gave them six more months to finish their project since the temporary casino will be part of the permanent destination.
Allie Evangelista, President of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol, said that the community’s response to the temporary casino has been positive. She went on to say that they are eager to unveil the new permanent location and that the extra time will allow them time to make sure the new location exceeds customer expectations.
Tribal Casinos In Virginia
All the casinos in Virginia are licensed as commercial casinos, although three of the four casinos are owned at least partially by Native Americans. The Seminole Tribe of Florida owns the Hard Rock Bristol under their Hard Rock International umbrella.

The gambling age for Virginia casinos is currently 21 for the four casino locations. However, licensed casinos can employ anyone over 18 but are restricted from allowing them on the gaming floor.
18+ Virginia casinos are only available online, as there are no laws that prevent players from accessing casinos or gambling online. The state has not passed any local legislation allowing its brick-and-mortar casinos to offer their services online.
