The Parx Casino (Philadelphia) and the Hollywood Casino at Penn National (Grantville) are both ready to launch their online casino platforms on July 15th, 2019. The announcement was made today at the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board monthly meeting. iGaming operators are worried over the lotteries ability to offer online games which strangely look similar to casino-style game offers. A PA state court was asked by a group of local casinos to order an injunction of the state’s internet lottery sales from the online gambling industry. New Wire Act Opinion Might Cause Clash with Lotteries

The new DOJ Opinion on the Federal Wire Act has caused a stir in the domestic gaming industry. New Hampshire challenged the Justice Department’s new opinion memo on the Wire Act citing its disruptive nature to their lottery vendors, multi-state associated lotteries, and their recently legalized online lottery operations. The US Department of Justice’s Office of Legal Counsel has recently released a new Opinion which reverses an earlier Formal Opinion Memorandum given in 2011.
