Missouri State Flag Icon

  • 13 commercial casinos offer table games, slots, and poker to players 21 and up.
  • No domestic sportsbooks are authorized in the state.
  • 18+ online casinos are legally offered from offshore brands.

The state’s Constitution currently only permits 13 casino licenses. All operational casinos in Missouri are commercial, but plans for the first MO tribal casino at the Lakes of Ozark have been submitted.

The Missouri Gaming Commission* regulates all local casino operations in the state. State-regulated gambling options include casinos, poker, and a state lottery. However, Missouri is one of the few US States that has not authorized sports betting; therefore, you will not find any local sportsbooks.

There are no brick-and-mortar 18+ Missouri casinos, as the legal gambling age is 21 and above, but there are numerous 18+ wagering options online that can legally be accessed from within the state’s borders.

Below, we will explore the local gambling market in MO and discuss the gaming options typically found in local casinos.

Does Missouri Have 18+ Casinos?

Minimum Legal Gambling Age Icon With 18+ LicenseNo, the state only allows players over the age of 21 to partake in casino gambling. 18-and-up online casinos are available due to the lack of state laws that address the matter. Federal gambling laws also do not forbid online gambling and, instead, let the states decide what their residents and guests can access online.

Commercial Casinos In MS

Currently, there are 13 commercial Missouri casinos and an amendment to the state’s constitution would be needed before any other casino licenses could be issued. Since online sportsbooks are not licensed or offered by the state, casinos are limited to slots, poker, and tabletop games.

Below, we will describe a few of the best gambling destinations in the state and what each property offers its players.

Tribal Casinos In MO

There are plans to build the state’s first-ever tribal gambling destination in the Lakes of Ozark area. Plans submitted for the “Osage Casino” include a casino, hotel, restaurant, sports bar, and meeting facility. The voters must first approve the project before construction can begin.

If approved, the casino initiative will override the state’s limit of 13 gaming licenses, first passed in 2008. Bally’s Corporation is bankrolling the project, which is expected to bring 700-800 jobs to the area.
